Skyjack
deals in aviation terrorism research in regards to the political, economic and
security aspects of the global terrorism and their influences on global civil
aviation, while at the same time acts as an academic stage for deepening and enriching
knowledge about aviation terrorism worldwide.
Skyjack provides quantitative
and qualitative information about all aviation terrorist events since 1968 providing
a source for academic research and historical documentation of aerial violence
motivated by political ideology.
Dr. Hillel Avihai holds a Ph.D. degree in aviation terrorism in the discipline
of Politics and international relations from the Anglia Ruskin (Polytechnic) University
UK, and a research member at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism in Herzliya (ICT),
specializes in the phenomenon of global aviation terrorism while investigating
the sources and motives of this phenomenon, likewise, analyzing significant events
and examining human and technological measures designed to confront the escalation
of this phenomenon , as expressed on the events of September 11, the significant
event that marked the passing from hijacking airplanes for the sake of negotiation
("rolling terror") to using airplanes as a strategic emissary to crash
them into designated targets ("immediate terror").

הלל אביחי (Ph.D) כתב את עבודת הדוקטוראט בתחום הטרור האווירי בדיסצפלינת פוליטיקה
ויחסים בינלאומיים ב- Anglia Ruskin (Polytechnic) University, UK, ועמית מחקר במכון
למדיניות נגד טרור בהרצליה (ICT), מתמחה בתופעת הטרוריזם התעופתי העולמי תוך התחקות
אחר שורשי התופעה, מניעיה, ניתוח ארועים מכוננים וכן בחינת האמצעים האנושיים-טכנולוגיים
אשר נועדו להתמודד עם אסקלציית התופעה, כפי שמצאה את ביטוייה בארועי ה- 11 בספטמבר,
ארוע מכונן אשר ביטא את המעבר מחטיפת מטוס לשם מיקוח ("טרור מתגלגל") לשימוש
במטוס כשליח אסטרטגי וריסוקו אל תוך מטרות נבחרות ("טרור מיידי").
